Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) would like to issue the following information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the impact on the sport.

The Federal Government’s announcement last night on the measures put in place to slow the spread of the Coronavirus will have a profound impact on many sectors in the community including tenpin bowling.   These new restrictions have a direct impact on how our sport will operate in the foreseeable future.

Indoor sporting venues have now been directed not to operate from midday 23rd March 2020.  As a result of these restrictions, all league bowling will be postponed indefinitely.   It is possible that these measures may last up to six months however reviews will be undertaken on a regular basis and we will continue to update you as more information comes to hand.

Bowling centre’s that do not adhere to these restrictions risk substantial fines for continuing to operate.  We encourage you to reach out to your bowling centre with any specific questions related to your league bowling.

TBA CEO Cara Honeychurch commented “The current situation with COVID-19 is creating devastation across the world impacting not only the health of communities, but causing economic turmoil and impacting on people’s ability to go about their daily lives – which of course includes sport and physical activity.  We must all play our part and follow social distancing and other guidelines provided by the Government in an attempt to contain this pandemic as quickly as possible so that we can return to enjoying life as we once knew it”.

We thank you for your ongoing support and understanding through these rapidly changing times.
