Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) would like to issue the following information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the impact on Australian teams at international events.

After considering advice from the federal government and health authorities, TBA has made the difficult decision that no Australian teams will be competing in international competitions in 2020.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, TBA has already cancelled several national championships and ranked events, and sadly this has now been extended to international events in 2020.   The health and safety of the athletes, staff, and other stakeholders must and will continue to be the key priority as we navigate through this challenging time.

TBA CEO Cara Honeychurch commented, “Whilst we expect many of the scheduled international championships to be postponed or cancelled, TBA is of the view that in these uncertain times it is important to provide as much clarity and direction as possible to our National Training Squad (NTS) athletes, coaches and managers.  TBA with the support of our dedicated NTS coaches have already turned our attention to creating programs and providing resources to keep our NTS athletes focused so that when life at some point returns to ‘normal’, they’ll be ready to go.  We look forward to seeing the green and gold colours worn with pride in 2021”.
