The highly anticipated TBA50 National Championships returns in 2023 and are set to take stage at the AGL National High-Performance Centre on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland from the 22-28 October 2023.

The week-long carnival will welcome bowlers aged 50 and over from Australia and New Zealand to gather and celebrate the sport they love in several events suited for a range of skill levels. The lanes will come alive with an array of Cup events and the thrilling TBA50 Team Challenge to return in its more traditional format.

“We’re incredibly excited to unveil the new chapter of the TBA50 National Championships,” said Nathan Stein, National Bowling & Operations Manager at Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA).

“The changes we’ve introduced this year reflect our commitment to honouring tradition while also celebrating the diversity of talent that defines our sport.

“The Sunshine Coast, with its breathtaking beauty and vibrant atmosphere, is the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable week of bowling,” added Stein.

The TBA50 National Championships are set to dazzle participants and spectators alike with a lineup of captivating cup events that cater to every level of expertise.

From the TBA50 Graded Cup, designed to challenge and inspire emerging talents, to entering the challenging TBA50 Classic Cup and, finally, the high-stakes nationally ranked event, the TBA50 National Masters, the stage is set for unforgettable displays of skill and determination on the national stage.

One of the most anticipated highlights of the championships is the electrifying TBA50 Teams Challenge. Returning to a more traditional format, this gripping competition brings together state, territory, and regional representatives to engage in a fierce battle of singles, doubles, and team competitions. The lanes will sizzle as the finest teams from each corner of Australia and New Zealand vie for the title of the ultimate bowling TBA50 team of 2023.

The Sunshine Coast adds an extra layer of allure to the championships.
