Sporting Schools have announced their “biggest ever” term of Sporting Schools funding in term four 2020. We need everyone to help spread the word so schools can be ‘ready to roll’ on the lanes with Bowl Patrol and Sporting Schools in term four!

Applications for term four funding opened Wednesday 19 August 2020 and will close 8 pm AEST on Friday 11 September 2020.

Sporting Schools is offering an additional one-off grant supplement in term four. Successful schools that opt-in to receive the funding could receive between $400 and $1,400 extra depending on how many schools apply. The supplemental grant pool will be distributed equally across eligible schools.

What is Sporting Schools?

Sporting Schools is a $240 million Australian Government initiative designed to help schools to increase children’s participation in sport, and to connect them with community sporting opportunities.

Sporting Schools programs are provided free to children and their families to help students build the confidence and capability to be active for life. Our great sport of Tenpin Bowling is one of 30 national sporting organisations that Sport Australia has partnered with to make bowling an option!

Schools across Australia currently have access to thousands of dollars to support an in-school or in-centre experience of tenpin bowling. It’s never been easier for teachers and coaches to upskill with both Level 1 Tenpin Bowling coaching qualifications, and new Bowl Patrol Lane Ranger training both available online.

How do I apply?

To apply for the supplement, schools simply will need to nominate how they plan to use the extra funding. Choices might involve delivering an additional sport (like tenpin), sport-related professional development for teachers (like a Level 1 or Lane Ranger training), or spend it on equipment (pins, balls, and lanes) to support the delivery of a tenpin bowling Sporting Schools program.

Our Sports Development Officers are ready to offer your school a complimentary, obligation-free quote; contact, or pass on their contact details to your school.

Remember – Applications close on Friday the 11th of September and Schools are encouraged to get in early!!

We want our bowling community to ask your local school principals or physical education/sports coordinators, to consider offering tenpin bowling as an inclusive, enjoyable, free sports program.
