With an overwhelming amount of responses from the launch of G’Day TBA episode one, it is time to share the series’ second episode.

G’Day TBA is one of many new initiatives captured within our Stakeholder communications plan for 2022 to support TBA’s strategic vision for a thriving tenpin bowling industry that engages and connects communities through play and skill.

Episode two dives into the future of Tenpin Bowling Australia, talking about future high-performance facilities, the Brisbane 2032 Olympics, upcoming competitions and more.

Answering the big questions TBA Chair Jerome Joseph delved into the process of establishing the new National High Performance and Community Centre on the Sunshine Coast and future ambitions to extend high-performance facilities in Australia.

“I think to have our first high-performance centre in Maroochydore and making it the centre we want to make, is a key focus for us… but we will always explore opportunities around future high performance centres and those explorations will occur consistently.

Continuing with questions relating to the future of Tenpin Bowling, Joseph delved into the details of how TBA hope to give the sport its Olympic debut at Brisbane 2032.

“We have a lot of support for becoming part of the Olympics in 2032, and the organisation is doing all we can to give ourselves the best chance. The new High Performance Centre, the launch of the Tenpin Premier League, the World Cup and Para World Cup coming to Australia, and the High-Performance review are all just some of the things we have got to keep doing to showcase the sport at a high level.”

TBA Chief Executive Officer Rohan O’Neill emphasised TBA’s commitment to introducing more high-level events in Australia.

“We are really keen to provide opportunities for the best athletes in the country to bowl, this year we have seen ranked events full with a waiting list, so that’s a really positive step,” he said.

“We’ll definitely be exploring new opportunities for ranked events, and the new Tenpin Premier League will cascade into ranked events as well.”
