As the new year dawns, bowlers are gearing up for a fresh start on the tournament scene! The excitement begins this weekend at Caboolture Bowl in Queensland, where the Hammer Queensland Senior Classic kicks off the 2024 Ranked Event season.

Once again, this popular event marks the start of the ranked event season, being the first on the calendar for senior and grand senior division bowlers. The event celebrates its 20th anniversary this year with yet another sold-out event welcoming108 bowlers ready to compete.

All participants will complete 18 games in their respective squads over two sessions. The male and female bowlers with the highest pinfall at the end of all three squads will be crowned champions.

Notably, last year’s female division champion, Victorian Dena Buxton, won’t be participating this year. However, Queenslander Sue Cassell, last year’s runner-up, will be present, aiming to add another Hammer title to her collection. Cassell has already claimed three consecutive titles from 2020 to 2022.

Local bowler Andrew Drew returns to defend his 2022 title in the male division, while fellow local Tony Hamilton, another three-time Hammer title holder, is back and ready to prove he’s a strong competitor once again.

Catch all the action on the Cab Bowl Live Facebook page and YouTube channel, as the event will be live-streamed. Scores and results will be regularly updated by tournament organizers on TenpinResults.

Wishing all bowlers in attendance this weekend the best of luck and high scores!
