Pocket Preview: Brunswick Seniors Invitational

Get ready for an exciting weekend of bowling as the inaugural Brunswick Seniors Invitational kicks off tonight at Bowlarama Wetherill Park, New South Wales.

The fourth event of the 2023 Senior & Grand Senior divisions ranked event season, the Brunswick Seniors Invitational will welcome top-notch bowlers from around the country in what promises to be a great showdown of talent.

One of the standout performers this season is Victorian Dena Buxton. With an impressive track record, Buxton will be present, eager to add more titles to her collection for 2023. Having already secured victory in two of the three senior events this year and finishing as a runner-up at the SA Senior Classic, she is one to watch. Joining her from Victoria is Christine Clark, the winner of the SA Seniors Classic, who will be keen to close the gap in the rankings.

On the men’s side, Mick Talevski, fresh from a triumph at the SA Seniors Classic, will be in attendance, aiming to extend his lead in the rankings. But he won’t be the only Mike in the spotlight. Mike Muir will also be present and will be one of several who will be determined to narrow the margin in the rankings.

The event will showcase four divisions for both male and female participants, including senior and grand senior categories. Over the three-day event, bowlers will compete in 18 games, divided into two sessions. At the conclusion of all squads completing their 18 games, the bowlers in each division with the highest pinfall will be crowned the inaugural champions of the Brunswick Senior Invitational.

Bowlarama Wetherill Park, situated 34 kilometres west of Sydney Central Business District in Greater Western Sydney, will host its first ranked event after successfully staging state championships in recent years. This promises to be an exceptional experience for participants and spectators alike.
