September 30, 2022

The final junior division ranked event for 2022 is set to get underway this weekend at Tenpin City for the running of the Junior Sydney Cup.

The long-running event returns after not running since 2019 and will take place from 1-3 October 2022.

With a few of the junior NTS18 stars away for competition in New Zealand, competition should be fierce for the titles.

Three divisions will be in play with Junior Boys, Junior Girls and Under 13’s with each bowler set the task to bowl 12 qualifying games in two 6 game blocks over two days.

The top 12 junior girls and top 12 junior boys based on scratch pinfall after 12 games will progress to stage 1. Stage 1 will see the top 12 bowl a further 4 games in 1 game blocks with pinfall carrying over from qualifying. The top 6 after stage 1 will progress to matchplay.

Matchplay will see the top 6 compete in 5 games matchplay with bonuses of 20 for a win, and 10 for a draw in play. Pinfall will carry over from stage 1.

The top three in each division at the completion of matchplay will proceed to the stepladder final where 3rd place bowls against 2nd, with the winner then bowling against 1st for the title. The top qualifier will be given a rechallenge game if they lose the first stepladder game.

The winner of the under 13’s division will be the bowler with the highest scratch pinfall after the 12 games of qualifying.

We wish all bowlers the best of luck and high scoring on the weekend.
