The first ranked event for the Women’s division has been postponed in 2022.

Initially scheduled for the 28th to 30th January 2022 at the Dustbowl, Alice Springs, the NT Tenpin Cup has been postponed to a date that will be advised in the new year.

Northern Territory Tenpin Bowling Association (NTTBA) president Janine Matheson explained that the decision was disappointing to have to do but the right one to make.

“The NTTBA and the proprietor of the Dustbowl were looking forward to hosting some of Australia’s best bowlers at the tournament in Alice Springs, but we also want as many people as possible to attend to ensure this event is an enjoyable and competitive tournament,” said Matheson.

“With so much uncertainty around flights and cancellations at present, we felt it was more proactive to make a decision now and wait until travelling is a little more straightforward.

“We look forward to welcoming ladies, men and graded bowlers to a revised date later in 2022”, added Matheson.

Updates on the new dates of the NT Tenpin Cup will be communicated via our channels once finalised.

“We have reached out to most bowlers who entered originally to let them know of this development and look forward to moving the event to a suitable position in the middle of next year,” said TBA National Manager of Bowling, Morty Douglass.
