Modified Rules Extended to June 2022

Tenpin Bowling Australia extends the waiver period on certain rules until 30 June 2022.

At the commencement of the pandemic, Tenpin Bowling Australia published several modified rule allowances. These modifications aimed to assist in the reformation of leagues and events to coincide with restrictions in place. The modified rules have been extended several times throughout 2020, 2021 and now 2022.

Due to the ongoing presence of COVID-19 and the differing restrictions in place across the different states, centres may now choose to adopt the waived rules until the 30th of June 2022. Further consideration will be given after that date.

“From discussions with centres, some modified rules are actually keeping people bowling”, explained National Bowling Manager Morty Douglass.

“It is for that reason that we are extending the waiver period until the middle of the year, where we will again assess if further extensions will be made.

“We are keeping the modified rule document the same as what was announced in September last year for simplicity’s sake”, added Douglass.

All centres that adopt any of the waived rules must be willing to accept the responsibility for controlling and managing the league’s resumption.

Please talk to your local centre to understand what modified rules may be in place throughout the new waiver period.
