Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) would like to make welcome to the Australian Government’s new Minister for Sport, the Hon. Anika Wells MP.

Prime Minister Albanese this week confirmed the appointment of Wells, the Federal Member for Lilley in Queensland, to the Aged Care and Sport portfolios.

Tenpin Bowling Australia looks forward to working with the Minister and her Team to shape the future of Tenpin Bowling in Australia, starting immediately with hosting our World Cup, celebrating the National High Performance and Community Centre and continuing to showcase our sport to all Australians.

Minister Wells will also join the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic organising committee– as Australia prepares to host those the largest of international sporting events, and Tenpin bowling continues to campaign to be included in their sporting line up.

Sport Australia, along with a chorus of national sporting organisations, welcomed the new Minister, with ASC Chair Josephine Sukkar AM commenting that an extended green-and-gold runway of major sporting events to Brisbane 2032 provides a generational opportunity to showcase the value and benefits of sport for every Australian.

“Right now, we have an incredible opportunity to unite, inspire and build Australia through sport and so the Australian Sports Commission welcomes the opportunity to work closely with Minister Wells and the Australian Government,” Mrs Sukkar said.

Wells, 36, was elected as Australia’s youngest female Member of Parliament in 2019, at the age of 34, and resides in the Moreton Bay region – for more information on the Minister, you can visit her page at Anika Wells – Home Page
