Bowler Bio

Sarah Pennicott began her bowling at the age of eight at Launceston Lanes where she’d attend a program every week called AMF Junior Development program. A few years later, she was bowling in regional championships and masters before she was approached to join the junior State team.

Her career has only taken off from there, making her first National Training Squad in 2018, Sarah would quickly be selected for the Australian Junior team for the 19th Asian Schools Championships in Chinese Taipei, finishing in 12th place in the Doubles event being her best result.

Sarah followed that up by returning to the Asian School Championships the following year in Hong Kong. Again, Sarah would perform strongly in the doubles event finishing the strongest of the Aussie pairs with partner Lilly Wilson finishing in 9th place. Closer to home, she picked up titles at the 2019 Queensland Junior Cup, 2019 Sydney Junior Cup and consistent performances in 2021 with two top-four finishes at the Sydney Youth Cup and TBA 21 Masters.

A university student by day, who is studying to become a teacher, Sarah was named the 2021 National Lane Ranger of the Year. Sarah loves the experiences she has had bowling as well as the friendships she has made. She also loves bowling, each and every day is different, and it allows her to challenge and push herself to become a better bowler.

If you see Sarah on the lanes for a competition, watch out for her pre-shot routine; wipe the ball, puff the ball, take a deep breath, relax and think positive thoughts.

Away from the lanes, Sarah enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her family.
