TBA continues to adapt to the needs of our members and the sport of bowling with innovative approaches and new appointments through our refreshed structure.

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Morty Douglass to the role of National Manager – Bowling, Rules & Tournaments. This is a new role that will be solely focused on working directly within the Bowling sector and oversees the TBA servicing and support of all accredited events, TBA rules, leagues, and national events.

The role provides leadership from TBA on key bowling activities across the country.  The focus of the role is to ensure the appropriate procedures and policies are in place, that an overarching framework is developed for the sport to best service and support volunteers, promoters, proprietors and ultimately the bowler.

With this consolidation of function in the rules, regulations, and tournament mandate TBA will be armed to provide a better experience and enhance the sport even further.

“We are absolutely focussed on assisting, promoting the bowling sector in all facets from the business of bowling, professional tournaments and accredited events with sophistication, benchmarking, and bowling professionals to prosper and future proof this amazing sport.”, COO Damien Smith said.

After a robust selection criteria extensively commissioned by Talent Cubes, Morty’s experience was clear with over 30 years of Bowling knowledge. From Tenpin Centre owner, TBAQ Vice President, TBAQ board member, National event coordinator, Rachuig Coordinator, TBA board member and bowling athlete still competing today. Most recently Morty has been selected as Australian National Championship Tournament Director which kicked off in Tasmania yesterday.

“I cannot wait to start with TBA and immerse myself within this amazing sport and harness the remit of Bowling, rules & tournaments working with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative setting to take the sport to its new trajectory. We will grow together”, Morty said.

Morty commences in early September 2021, please all join me in welcoming Morty to the Business.
