Bowl Patrol program hosted at Belmo’s house

Orange Tenpin Bowl ran a Bowl Patrol school holiday camp recently in the home centre of Bowl Patrol ambassador Jason Belmonte. As the images attest, it was a huge success!

Ten local kids joined the program, doing three Bowl Patrol standard sessions a day, completing the eighth on day three. Proving the program really teaches perfect technique – all participants reached full-length lanes by day 3. The carpets (9m, 6m then 3m) certainly helped with their delivery, growing in confidence and ability with every roll.

Centre owner Marisa Belmonte has huge enthusiasm for the national ‘learn to bowl’ program her famous son Jason Belmonte is ambassador of. One of our other favourite Jasons, Jason Brown was Lane Ranger with the assistance of Sharni Bew. The participants learnt the usual Bowl Patrol curriculum including;

  • Techniques such as Rock On, Balanced Stance, One Step – Four step delivery and Two Handed bowling
  • Theory like how to score, behind the scenes, setting goals and looking inside the equipment

Plus plenty more about the sport of tenpin bowling, encouraging each other and learning most importantly to have fun on the lanes. A special moment for the Patroller bowlers was receiving their coloured wristband once they’d achieved the required score to progress to the short lane or more difficult five-frame score total. The group would gather around their fellow bowler following the presentation of their wristband and cheer the bowler on in a frenzied circle. Check it out in the summary video Orange Tenpin created to celebrate and showcase the fun enjoyed by the Patrollers at this camp.

Many of our centres offering the Bowl Patrol program are offering free come and try sessions these school holidays, a great opportunity to test whether the program is right for your child. Term 1 programs begin week 2 with registrations now open at www.bowlpatrol.com.au. A reminder to anyone who’s already done the program; subsequent programs are only $79 for your bowlers. We also accept all the sport vouchers offered in every state and territory except Victoria and ACT.
