Bowl Patrollers are go!

Kids around Australia are gaining skills that’ll last a lifetime; learning to bowl. The Bowl Patrol program offered by limited and approved centres is preparing the next generation of bowlers.

Like Jason ‘Belmo’ Belmonte our ambassador, starting young can only be a good thing. Designed for primary school aged students the program guides bowlers through eight, one-hour sessions where delivery technique is matched with inside knowledge about bowling equipment, machines, scoring and so much more.

Some of our success stories from the Term 3 program include the two below from NT and WA.

Isaac and Alex are BB’s at Bowl Patrol, Planet Tenpin (Term 3 2019)

In the Northern Territory

At Planet Tenpin in Darwin our recently retired Sport Development Officer Navin Chandra saw the Bowl Patrol program grow term-on-term. Isaac and Alex are inseparable friends joining Bowl Patrol for the first time together. They have progressed through the lanes together keeping them as bowling buddies in every session.

Bowl Patrol offers a great opportunity for kids to meet people and make new friends. Kids often end up coaching and encouraging each other – in the true spirit of sport!

Lane Ranger Moira guides Westminster Support Centre through Bowl Patrol

In Western Australia

At Warwick Super Bowl our Sport Development Officer Mia Buswell ran a Bowl Patrol trial as part of a Sporting Schools program. With funding support from Sporting Schools and Targeted Participation Program (TPP) 24 children with high levels of support needs from Westminster Support Centre took their first steps down the lane.

One of our favourite Lane Rangers (coaches) Moira put the kids through their paces, they had an absolute ball!
