Jason Belmonte has fallen short of claiming the 2023 PBA Tour Finals title after losing to Kris Prather in the Group 2 finals this morning in Arlington, Wash, U.S.A.

Following claiming the number one spot in his group from the positional play on Sunday, Belmonte was matched against Kris Prather for a spot in the championship match against eventual winner and American Kyle Troup.

Missing two makeable spares in the first game of the Best-of-Two match, Belmonte fired back in Game 2 by shooting a perfect 300 game, becoming the first player in PBA history to achieve three televised perfect games.

The achievement didn’t stop the red-hot Prather as he took advantage of Belmonte’s 10-pin leave in the two-frame roll-off.

Prather has been kryptonite to Belmonte’s success in recent times on tour. With the win over Belmonte, Prather moves to a 4-0 advantage on television against the 31-time champion and 15-time major champion.

In the championship match, there was no stopping Kyle Troup who shot 268, and 266 to sweep Prather and claim the title.

Tenpin Bowling Australia congratulates Jason Belmonte for his third place in the 2023 PBA Tour Finals.
