Tenpin Bowling Australia wishes to congratulate the group of athletes selected to represent Australia at the upcoming 16th Asian Senior Tenpin Bowling Championships.

The popular event returns for its sixteenth installment after being impacted due to COVID-19.

The Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress will host 261 athletes from nine different countries at the Sunway Mega Lanes, Malaysia, from 9-15 November 2022.

The Championships will see two divisions play over several events. Senior Division for anyone 50 or over, and Grand Senior for athletes 65 and above.

Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to athletes in Singles, Doubles, Teams (4), All-Events, and master’s events.

Australia has long participated in the Asian Senior Tenpin Bowling Championships, and organiser Brenda Kirkwood is excited to get back into the swing of things after the forced break.

“We are so excited to get over there and compete once again”.

“You don’t really understand how much you miss something until you can’t do it, and the impact of COVID has provided us with that opportunity.

“We look forward to heading over there with rejuvenated enthusiasm and representing Australia to the best of our abilities,” added Kirkwood.

A large Australian contingent is traveling to Malaysia with three senior male teams, two senior ladies teams, and one grand senior ladies team.

Tenpin Bowling Australia wishes to congratulate the selected athletes and wishes them the best of luck at the event.
