President’s Shield
20th-22nd July 2021
Established in 1974, the President’s Junior Interstate Shield determines annually the best state/territory/zone representative teams of junior male and female bowlers.
For the first time in the event history, the 2021 President’s Shield format will utilise the international team event format. The structure will see teams bowl three events (singles, doubles, teams) over three separate days awarding medals to the top three placegetters in each event.
Individual performances throughout the three events will award points after each of the division’s events. At the conclusion of the three-day event, three champion teams will be crowned for the male division, female division, and combined division.
For the first time since 1990, Moonah, Tasmania, will host this year’s President’s Shield event with Zone Bowling Moonah, the host venue of the 2021 Australian National Championship.
We wish all bowlers the best of luck and high scoring for the event!

Scores & Results
Format
For the first time, the President’s Shield will be utilising the international team’s format. The structure will see teams bowl three disciplines (singles, doubles, teams) over three separate days.
- Singles – Bowlers will bowl six games in one block. Points will be awarded to all singles scores in each division after the six games are completed, based on total pinfall, and in accordance with the table shown in the rule book. Both the Male and Female divisions will commence bowling from 10 am on Tuesday 20th July.
- Doubles – Bowlers will bowl six games in one block. Points will be awarded to all doubles in each division after the six games are completed, based on total pinfall, and in accordance with the table shown in the rule book. Both the Male and Female divisions will commence bowling from noon on Wednesday the 21st July.
- Teams – Four-player teams will see bowlers bowl six games in two three-game blocks. Points will be awarded to all teams in each division after the six games are completed, based on total pinfall, and in accordance with the table shown in the rule book. Both divisions will commence bowling time from 8 am on Thursday 22nd July.
As mentioned above, points for performance are appointed after each division for that discipline.
Three overall point tables will track performances and determine the overall division winners. These divisions are Male, Female and Combined.
The overall President’s Shield winner will be determined by adding the total points from the male division to the total points in the female division.
