Venue Manager – Position Application

Devonport Tenpin Bowl are excited to announce we are seeking an experienced Venue manager to work with us as we transform our venue and customer experience to deliver a revitalised entertainment facility to the North West community . As the Venue Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our entertainment venue and ensure that it runs efficiently, smoothly, and profitably. Your primary responsibilities will include managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, implementing marketing strategies, and maximizing revenue opportunities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organisational, and customer service skills, a strong background in the hospitality industry, as well as a passion for providing an enjoyable and entertaining experience to our valued patrons. Position start will be early October.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Operations Management:
    • Supervise and lead all aspects of the venue, including daily operations across bowling lanes, kitchen and café, arcades and other entertainment facilities. Monitoring staff with opening and closing procedures, and managing staff rosters.
    • Monitor facility maintenance, including bowling equipment, arcades and overall facility appearance to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for customers.
    • Oversee the implementation of league play, tournaments, and special events, coordinating with the appropriate staff and ensuring smooth execution.
    • Regularly review and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
    • Being responsible for quality and stock control, menus and general operations of our planned kitchen café.
  2. Staff Management:
    • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff members.
    • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and professional growth among the staff.
    • Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews to ensure a high level of service and employee satisfaction.
  3. Customer Service:
    • Ensure that all customers receive exceptional service and have a pleasant experience at the bowling alley.
    • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively, striving to exceed customer expectations.
    • Implement customer feedback and suggestions to continuously improve services and amenities.
  4. Financial Management:
    • Work with upper management to develop and manage the bowling alley’s budgets, including revenue projections, expense controls, and cost management.
    • Monitor and analyze financial reports to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
    • Work closely with the accounting providers to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.
  5. Marketing and Promotions:
    • Work with upper management to develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
    • Collaborate with a marketing team to design and implement promotions, events, and loyalty programs to drive customer engagement and increase visitation.
    • Maintain a strong online presence, including social media platforms and the bowling alley’s website.
  6. Health and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a safe environment for both customers and employees.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.


  • Proven management experience in the hospitality or entertainment industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent customer service abilities and a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and business planning.
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies and promotional techniques.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
