Participation Manager

Tenpin Bowling in Australia is a sport on the move. With a newly established National High-Performance Centre and with a participation base of well over 1 million Australian’s per annum, the sport is gaining momentum and growing.

Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) is the National Sporting Organisation to lead the management and development of tenpin bowling in Australia. Tenpin bowling is a sport for all, with no age, size, speed, or strength limitations. It’s a global sport with 112 registered international sport federations and over 220 million participants.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Participation Manager will lead the entire end-to-end operations of the participation area inclusive of program management, logistics, operations, and growth.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Manage all operational aspects of the TBA Participation programs
  • Drive national workforce management to all participation programs, including recruitment, training, and management
  • Manage the relationship with registered bowling centres to implement and execute programs effectively
  • Develop and deliver an integrated national marketing and communications plan for participation
  • Work collaboratively with partners, stakeholders, and sponsors to integrate TBA program messaging and promotion
  • Capture and effectively analyse all participation data in the agreed centralised repository in accordance with TBA policy
  • Work with TBA personnel to explore new partnerships for participation program growth and expansion
  • Develop effective reporting tools and report on participation data, insights, and learnings to contribute to continuous improvement of TBA’s Participation products.

  • Strong communication skills, including verbally and in writing, and the ability to advocate, represent, influence, negotiate and resolve conflicts should they arise
  • Experience in planning, delivering, and coordinating participation initiatives and outcomes.
  • Registration/Administration Platform experience, including the set-up of participation products, payment systems, and reporting (GameDay experience an advantage)
  • Analytical ability, data-driven, and able to deliver insights to enable evidence-based decision-making.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects. 
  • An understanding of key marketing tactics and how they can be applied to drive participation outcomes
