We’re very excited to announce the winners of State and Territory Bowl Patrol awards for 2019.

(Image: can’t stop kids flossing! Term 2’s Bowl Patrollers in SA were particularly big fans – the Lane Ranger used it as a motivating reward.)

Every year our Sport Development Officers work with the Bowl Patrol centres, Lane Rangers and participants to recognise a few special stand outs.

Whilst all our Patrollers are to be rewarded for giving it a go (and they do love their wristbands when they graduate to a new level) there’s a few worth highlighting. They’re one’s to watch, who might be facing other challenges in their lives, who really enjoy the program and are having a ball sharing the love of bowling.

We’ll profile all our winners in news posts and one our Facebook page.

Our Tasmanian 2019 award winners are…

TAS Lane Ranger of the Year – Sarah Pennicott has taken a lead role in promoting and facilitating the program at Launceston Lanes in 2019. She is a fantastic asset to the Bowl Patrol community and is also a role model for our young bowlers to look up to. Sarah has successfully ran three Bowl Patrol programs this year and has actively recruited another Lane Ranger for the Launceston area, taking on a mentoring role with her. Thank you Sarah for all your hard work in 2019.

TAS Centre of the year – ZONE BOWLING Moonah has taken on an active role this year in advertising, promoting and facilitating four extremely successful programs in 2019. It has been wonderful working with the manager Jesse who is always willing to assist with Bowl Patrol whenever possible. Thank you to the ZONE BOWLING Moonah team for all the hard work in 2019.

TAS Patroller Boy of the Year – Thomas Ikin has just completed his third Bowl Patrol program has been a consistent and enthusiastic member of the Moonah programs. Thomas has shown a commitment to improving himself and is always competing to achieve his personal best.

TAS Patroller Girl of the Year – Eliza Midgely is new to Bowl Patrol in term 4 and has made an immediate impact on the program. She is always striving to improve herself and has shown a commitment to always striving to be at her best every week.

Our South Australian 2019 winners are…

SA Centre of the Year – ZONE BOWLING Woodville have run a couple of programs this year in the last school holidays they promoted the program by giving out flyers and including the flyers in their Birthday Party Bags.  The techs have been very helpful ensuring the lanes are ready and well prepared.  The staff have been very helpful with the running of this program ensuring that all Patrollers have a positive experience.

SA Lane Ranger of the Year – Matt Krinis was originally involved with the Woodville program when SA initially started Bowl Patrol in 2016.  He has returned this term to assist and is doing an outstanding job working with the Bowl Patrollers.  He has met all challenges with a very calm attitude and provided all the participants with a great program. Matt is also a Bronze Coach and an elite bowler himself and works well with the next generation introducing them to the skills of tenpin.

SA Bowl Patroller Girl of the Year – Tahlia Lydeamore has been involved in the program for 4 terms and was most determined to get her Black Band.  Tahlia has Autism and the noise of the pins and balls caused her some issues.  She started to wear her noise cancelling headphones and this increased her ability to concentrate.  While she didn’t quite get her Black Band she has progressed on to the Junior League run at the centre and recently was bowler of the week achieving her highest score.

SA Bowl Patroller Boy of the Year – Mack Sharp was involved in the program in Term 2 and progressed through to his Blue Band.  He was very keen and listened to all information provided and tried to apply it to his game.  Mack was always striving to improve his score and worked hard to achieve each level.  He has progressed to the Junior League and achieved a bowler of the week award.

Congratulations to our winners in Tasmania and South Australia. Wondering who won in your State or Territory? Keep an eye on Tenpin.org.au’s news this week. #BowlPatrolAwards
