2018 Intake

2018 National Training Squad

TBA is pleased to announce details regarding the 2018 National Training Squad intake.

The NTS concept aims to provide the best opportunities available to develop our athletes whilst effectively managing the budgetary constraints of both TBA and the bowlers.  The major change for the NTS in 2018 will be the introduction of a Head Coach for each pool of athletes (Men, Women, Senior, Youth & Junior). The Head Coaches will be responsible for managing one pool of athletes.

TBA is also delighted to announce the inclusion of Senior and Junior athletes to the 2018 National Training Squad (NTS).  The HP Committee who is responsible for the development of our High Performance program and pathways for athletes and coaches strongly supported the addition of Seniors and Juniors to the NTS based on feedback from athletes and coaches around lack of clear pathways for Seniors and Juniors.

TBA will select a National Training Squad consisting of several pools of athletes to a maximum of:

  • 12 adult male bowlers
  • 12 adult female bowlers
  • 12 male and 12 female Youth bowlers over 18 years of age but under 21 years of age as at 1st January
  • 12 Junior boys and 12 Junior girls who have not reached the age of 18 years on January 1st of the current year
  • 8 male and 8 female Senior bowlers who have attained or will attain the age of 50 years of age or above in the current year

For more information about eligibility, skills testing and other requirements please read the National Training Squad Policy.
