Friday, January 11, 2019

TBA’s High Performance Committee has today announced the team to represent Australia at the inaugural 2019 World Bowling Junior Championship.

The team will compete in Paris, France from March 16 to March 23, against the qualifying nations.

Team Australia has selected 2 boys and 2 girls to represent the country at the championship as per maximum allowance.

Tenpin Bowling Australia wishes to congratulate Amy Shoesmith, Sophie Martin, Nixon Chan and Cameron Stein as the selected Australian team.

Amy Shoesmith and Sophie Martin are the two selected girls for the team. After getting a taste at the 2018 Asian School Championship they will make their debut on the World stage in Paris.

Cameron Stein and Nixon Chan headline the selected boys for the team. Another of the 2018 Asian School Australian representatives, Nixon Chan will help steer Cameron Stein navigate his first ever international event.

After winning 2 silvers and three bronze medals at the Asian School Championship the team will be putting their best foot forward in seeking more medals in Paris. The team will again be coached by Junior National Training Squad head coach Shane Bernhardt.  The female management position process is still ongoing.
