Tasmania Win Darrell Holt Restricted Challenge
Tasmanians return from the Darrell Holt Restricted Challenge with a swag of gold medals
Congratulations to our Darrell Holt Teams who returned from Canberra after their most successful campaign in the Restricted Teams Challenge.
Competing at AMF Belconnen, ACT from the 14th to 16th September, our mens team (Stephen Archer - NSW draft, Garry Arnol, Neil Cook, John Hayes, Stephen Hayes, Martin Tabrett & Jamie Walker) put in a fantastic performance on the last day of the competition to overtake North Queensland and win the Mens Division by 3 points. Leading the way in what was a great team effort were Garry Arnol and Martin Tabrett who finished 1st & 2nd respectively in the Team of the Year standings.
The ladies team (Dianne Backhouse, Cheryl Dennis - ACT draft, Lyn Hawkes, Lynne Hayes, Rachael Kean, Andrea McCoull & Shirleen Tubb) also put in a big effort on the last day to move up to 5th position in their division which resulted in Tasmania winning the Combined Pointscore by 1 point from the Fusion team with North Queensland a further point behind in third place.
Congratulations also to Jamie Walker who bowled his highest game of 276 during the Mens Restricted Masters final. And finally, a big well done to Shirleen Tubb who won the Womens Restricted Masters final in her very first national competition.
