A very successful state championships concluded yesterday at Devonport Bowl with the running of the Tasmanian Masters.

The winners were decided in a thrilling Positional Round with Brad Goss defeating Fletcher Parsons in the final game to take out his first state title. Brad lead the tournament from game 1 after his opening 257 game and went on to average 221 to win by 88 pins. Hayden George put in a big finish with games of 244 & 266 to sneak in to 2nd place from Matthew Dickson who was a further 17 pins away.

In the ladies final, Rebekah Commane returned home to Tasmania to bowl before she heads over to the USA on a bowling scholarship. Rebekah started slowly but then put together games of 258, 214, 219 & 245 to take the lead. Allison Oakley tried to chase her down with games of 233, 248, 190 & 226, but fell 11 pins short to finish in second place. Jane Gibbons was a further 83 pins away in third place with Sara Peck finishing 4th.
