Tenpin Bowling Australia Board

In carrying out its responsibilities and powers as set out in this Charter, the Tenpin Bowling Australia Limited (TBA) Board will at all times recognise its overriding responsibility to act honestly, fairly, diligently and in accordance with the law in fulfilling its primary responsibility of looking after the interests of the sport of tenpin bowling in Australia.

The Board works to promote and maintain an environment and culture within TBA, wherein the mission and values are central reference points and sources of motivation, for all staff and volunteers.

Shane Bernhardt (SA)
Chair

As General Manager of SA Cricket Association for over 16 years, Shane brings extensive experience in developing sustainability and strategy. Having player, coach and administrator experience, Shane has held High Performance coaching roles in both cricket and tenpin bowling.
Matt Whitten (NSW)
Vice Chair

Matthew is a former member of both NSWTBA Board and Greater Sydney Tenpin Bowing Association Board thus having had involvement at the local, state and national board level. In his role as National Operations Manager he leads a team of 200 across 16 sites in Australia. With a passion for mental health first aid he brings a wealth of understanding and patience to the role.

Renee Woolley (VIC/TAS)
ZONE BOWLING Representative

Renee is an experienced Regional Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the entertainment and retail industry. Skilled in Customer Service, Coaching, and Sales, Renee is currently State Operations Manager VIC/TAS for Timezone and Zone Bowling.
Geoff Bowness (NSW)
Director Bowler Representative

With a Bachelor degree in Design and Technology as well as Industrial Arts, Geoff brings 40 years experience in the sport at State, National and International level. Geoff was a pro shop owner/operator for 35 years. He is also a member of TBA’s High Performance Committee.
Dean Brostek (VIC)
Director

Dean is the co‑founder and partner at The Kinetica Group, a management consulting business focused on the health, sport and community sectors. Through his experience at The Kinetica Group and as a former Director of Strategy and Growth at Repucom, Dean has extensive experience assisting organisations to capture value and make an impact. Dean also worked at Tennis Australia for 5 years as Head of Strategy and Research.

Graeme Cox (NSW)
IBCA Representative

Graeme is the General Manager of the SuperStrike group; a chain of 4 bowling centres across the Newcastle region. Representing the independent bowling centres, with over 20 years’ experience managing bowling centres and a passion for developing the sport, Graeme brings a wealth of proprietor experience to the Board.

Sally Jarvis (NT)
Director Bowler Representative

Sally is the current Director of the Arafura Games which returned to Darwin in 2019 after an 8 year hiatus. Prior to this, Sally was the Manager, Sport Competition at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Sally’s extensive experience in multi and single sport events management will be invaluable as TBA embarks on the evolution of its National Championships

Hish Fernando (VIC)
Appointed Director

Hish is the Strategic Partnerships and Culture Advisor at ShareTree.org, a charity focused on improving culture and character in organisations. His key focus is driving skills-based volunteering, and culture uplift through impact storytelling and culture programs. Hish’s management consulting and data analytics background has also seen him working across Participation divisions in sports such as Tennis, Cricket and Rugby Union. He is a Director on the board of Protegic, an IT Consulting Firm and QJ Quartzstone, an international building materials business.
